Work anxiety therapy in NYC

If your Sunday already feels like Monday, this is for you.

Work anxiety therapy for NYC professionals, with evening and weekend appointments across four Manhattan and Brooklyn offices.

Which pattern matches what you're experiencing at work?

Because I want to feel like myself again at work.

  • Mon to Sun 7am to 10pm appointments
  • 4 NYC Offices Manhattan and Brooklyn
  • Same-Week Openings Built for busy weeks
  • High-Achiever Focused Finance, law, tech, medicine
  • Beyond Coping Skills Depth-first, not just symptoms

If this sounds familiar

From the outside, your life looks fine. Inside, the anxiety has been running the week.

You've been doing this for years. The next step is five short questions about which pattern fits and what kind of support you actually want.

  • Your Sunday night already feels like Monday morning, every week, and you're tired of pretending it doesn't.
  • You replay yesterday's 1:1 at 2am and rehearse tomorrow's at 6am, and somewhere in between you're supposed to be sleeping.
  • From the outside your life looks fine. Inside, you constantly feel like you're about to mess something up or get found out.
  • You've already tried the apps, the breathing exercises, maybe a round of CBT, and the anxiety keeps showing up at work anyway.
  • Some part of you is scared this is bigger than you can handle on your own, and the next promotion will only raise the stakes.

Because I want to stop dreading Sunday night.

What's possible

A Monday that doesn't start braced. A 9pm phone you actually put down.

Clients describe the change as small first, then visible: the chest tightness on the train softens. The 1:1 happens, and the voice doesn't shake the way it used to. The week ends without a hangover that takes until Wednesday to lift.

  • The Sunday-night dread starts to ease, then disappears, then you stop noticing it stopped.
  • You speak in the meeting without your voice giving you away, and you put your phone down at 9pm and actually mean it.
  • Your career stops costing your nervous system the bill it has been quietly paying for years.

Because I want my weekend to feel like a weekend.

How it works

One step from you. Here's what we do next.

From quiz to first session, often the same week. Cigna and Aetna accepted, out-of-network welcome.

  1. Take the short quiz

Five quick questions about which work-anxiety pattern fits, what's been hardest, and how you'd like to start. About one minute.

  2. We reach out within one business day

A real person from our intake team calls to talk through fit, match you with the therapist most likely to land for you, and answer any Cigna or Aetna questions.

  3. Meet your therapist this week

In person at the office closest to you, Midtown, Chelsea, Brooklyn, or Upper West Side. Or secure video if that fits your week better. Evenings and weekends available.

Because I want a clear next step, not another open tab.

What you'll find here

Therapy built around the NYC professional, not around the 9-to-5 hour the rest of the field still keeps.

A four-office NYC practice with thirteen clinicians, founded by a psychoanalytically trained Clinical Director. The practice was built around the working professional whose calendar does not pause at 5pm and whose anxiety does not pause at all.

  • Open seven days a week, with evening and weekend appointments at every office

Mon to Sun, 7am to 10pm. Most NYC therapy practices keep banker's hours. Ours was built around the lawyer in court until 7, the trader on the desk through close, the resident on call most weekends. The schedule is the schedule. We work around it.

  • Depth-first care, with skills woven in when the work calls for it

Founder Efrat Gotlib trained at the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Our team blends psychodynamic insight, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and creative arts therapies. The aim is structural change, not a refresher on breathing exercises.

  • Specialized in high-achiever work anxiety across NYC verticals

Finance, law, tech, medicine, agency, consulting. We know what end-of-quarter feels like. We know what billables and call schedules and promo packets do to a nervous system. The clients in our offices look like the people you work with.

  • Match-not-assign intake, with thirteen clinicians to choose from

A real person from our intake team listens to what you said in the quiz, then matches you with the clinician most likely to land for you. If the fit is wrong, we re-match. The practice carries the responsibility for the match, not the client.

Because I want a practice built around how I actually work.

Midtown Manhattan

From the outside my life looked fine

From the outside my life probably looked fine, job, responsibilities, functioning adult. Inside I constantly felt like I was about to mess something up or get found out.

Immense growth in my anxiety management

This truly has been the most comfortable I have ever felt with a therapist, and I have seen immense growth in my anxiety management since working with Michelle Hall. She is easy to open up to and has created such a judgement free environment to talk through anything. Couldn't recommend more.

Coping mechanisms for work stress and anxiety

The level of service I received during my therapy sessions has been life changing. Therapy24x7 has given me coping mechanisms to deal with my work stress and anxiety. All the staff have always been friendly and very helpful.

How we work

Depth-first care with skills layered in. The work goes deeper than coping.

Most NYC competitors lead with one modality. We lead with the question of what's actually fueling the anxiety, and choose the tools accordingly. Psychodynamic insight is the spine; CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and creative arts therapies are integrated when the work calls for them.

Psychodynamic Insight Work

The spine of how we work. We surface the patterns underneath the symptoms, the unconscious loops driving the 1am rumination, the imposter spike, the perfectionism that has stopped paying off. Founder Efrat Gotlib trained at MITPP.

CBT and DBT Skills

When a client needs tools they can use in the actual moment, we integrate Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior skills. Not as a stand-alone protocol, but as practical reinforcement for the deeper work.

Mindfulness and Somatic Work

For the high-achiever whose anxiety lives in the body, jaw locked through every review, chest tight before Monday. We integrate mindfulness and body-based approaches alongside conversation, so the nervous system can settle, not just be talked about.

Creative Arts Therapy

When words have been used up, dance/movement therapy and art therapy give clients a way in that talk-only therapy cannot reach. Several of our clinicians are board-certified creative arts therapists.

Because I want something more than another coping skill.

Meet the team

A 13-clinician team built around NYC work anxiety

Therapists across psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and creative arts approaches, with deep specialty in the high-functioning professional. We match each client with the clinician most likely to fit how they actually show up.

Portrait of Efrat Gotlib, LCSW, LMSW, Founder and Clinical Director of Therapy24x7

Efrat Gotlib, LCSW, LMSW

Efrat founded Therapy24x7 and trained at the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She works with NYC professionals who are high-functioning by every external measure and quietly exhausted by it. Her approach is psychodynamic at the core, integrating CBT, DBT, and mindfulness when the work calls for them. Clients describe her style as no-nonsense, warm, and direct. She is known for asking the questions you have been avoiding.

Portrait of Amy Amitay, LMHC, CASAC

Amy Amitay, LMHC, CASAC

Amy works with the partner-track attorney pouring the third drink before opening the laptop again, the trader whose Adderall use crept past prescription, the consultant who tells herself the wine is just to take the edge off Sunday night. Holding LMHC and CASAC credentials with ten years of clinical work, her sessions are designed to support clients who want to look at the substance pattern, the anxiety underneath it, and the work culture feeding both.

Portrait of Janeese Parker, LMHC, CCTP-II, C-DBT

Janeese Parker, LMHC, CCTP-II, C-DBT

Janeese works at the intersection of work anxiety, identity, and the body's stored stress. With LMHC, CCTP-II, and C-DBT credentials and eleven years of clinical practice, she brings particular care to multicultural NYC professionals carrying loads their workplace does not see. She is direct about race, code-switching, and the specific exhaustion of being the only one in the room. Her sessions blend trauma-informed and DBT-anchored skills with culturally attuned, conversational depth.

Portrait of Shereen Bar-Or Becerra, MPS, LCAT, ATR-BC

Shereen Bar-Or Becerra, MPS, LCAT, ATR-BC

For the NYC professional who has tried therapy before and wants something to actually shift, Shereen offers a different way in. Her credentials include LCAT (Licensed Creative Arts Therapist) and ATR-BC (Board-Certified Art Therapist). She brings neuroscience, attachment theory, and creative and somatic practices to the room, which means clients can move toward what words alone cannot reach. She works with anxiety, trauma, and the slow erosion of self-trust that high-functioning life can produce.

Portrait of Valerie Capili, LCSW

Valerie Capili, LCSW

Valerie has ten years of clinical experience and integrates psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. Her work with NYC professionals is anti-oppressive and trauma-informed, with a feminist lens that makes room for race, gender, and the layered identities her clients bring into the office. She works particularly well with clients whose work anxiety has older roots than the job itself.

Portrait of Tekla Benson, MPS, LCAT, ATR-BC

Tekla Benson, MPS, LCAT, ATR-BC

Tekla works with the NYC high-functioning adult who has been quietly burning out for years; the overachiever, the masker, the one who looks fine until they get home and cannot speak for an hour. Pratt-trained with LCAT and ATR-BC credentials, she blends psychodynamic depth with creative arts therapy, especially art-based and somatic interventions. Her practice is trauma-informed and neurodivergence-affirming. Sessions move between conversation and creative work.

FAQs

What NYC professionals ask us before booking

How fast can a first session happen?

Most new clients sit down with their matched therapist within the same week of taking the quiz. Evening and weekend slots are available across all four NYC offices, seven days a week, so the first session can fit a real working calendar instead of requiring a vacation day.

Do you accept insurance?

We work with Cigna and Aetna plans. Coverage and benefits vary by plan, so we recommend verifying yours before your first session. Out-of-network and private pay options are also available, and our intake team will walk through what your specific plan looks like on the first call.

I've already tried BetterHelp or a meditation app. How is this different?

App-based care is built around symptom management. Therapy24x7 is built around what's actually fueling the anxiety. Our approach is depth-first, with skills integrated when the work calls for them. Clients who come to us after BetterHelp or Calm typically describe the difference as the work finally landing on something instead of skating across the surface.

Will therapy make me less effective at work?

The opposite tends to be the case. The aim isn't to make you care less. The aim is to recover from hard days in a day instead of a week, sleep through the night, walk into Monday without the chest tightness, and stop checking Slack at 11pm to feel caught up. Most clients describe their work as steadier, not slower, after a few months.

Are sessions in-person or online?

Both. We have four NYC offices, in Midtown, Chelsea, Brooklyn Heights, and the Upper West Side. Most clients see their therapist in person at the office closest to them. Secure video sessions are available across New York State for the weeks the in-person time isn't possible.

What if I'm not sure which work-anxiety pattern fits me?

That's exactly what the five-question quiz is for. The quiz helps you self-select against patterns we work with regularly, and our intake team uses your answers to match you with the clinician most likely to land for what you described. If the match feels wrong after the first session, we re-match. The practice carries the responsibility for the fit, not the client.

Will my employer find out?

No. Sessions are confidential. We do not contact employers. Insurance claims, when used, do not include session content. The work happens between you and your therapist, full stop.
